The Advancing Healthy Lifestyles (AHL) Coalition recently hosted a dynamic webinar offering a preview of its highly anticipated fourth annual Action for Health Conference—and one thing is clear: this year’s event is all about turning conversation into action.
Centered on the theme “Taking Action for Healthier Communities,” the conference reflects a critical shift happening across public health. While ideas and dialogue remain essential, the focus is now on implementation—what it truly takes to move strategies from concept to real-world impact. Attendees can expect to walk away not just inspired, but equipped with practical tools, proven approaches, and meaningful connections to drive change in their own communities.
The conference will bring together a diverse cross-section of professionals, including healthcare leaders, public health practitioners, educators, nonprofit organizations, policymakers, and community advocates. This diversity is intentional. It creates a collaborative environment where innovative ideas can be shared across sectors and translated into actionable solutions.
One of the highlights this year is keynote speaker Sam Kass, a nationally recognized leader in nutrition, health policy, and food systems. Known for his work with the Obama administration and the Let’s Move! campaign, Kass brings a unique blend of policy insight and on-the-ground experience that promises to energize and challenge attendees.
In addition to traditional breakout sessions, the conference is introducing a fresh format: TED Talk–style presentations. These sessions will spotlight creative, real-world solutions in areas like nutrition, physical activity, and obesity prevention—delivered in engaging, digestible formats designed to spark new thinking.
The experience doesn’t stop there. Attendees will have opportunities to engage in interactive wellness activities such as yoga and breathwork, explore vendor exhibits, and participate in hands-on learning experiences. These elements are thoughtfully designed to create an immersive environment where learning, networking, and well-being intersect.
Networking remains a cornerstone of the AHL Conference. Past attendees consistently highlight the value of in-person connections—where partnerships are formed, ideas are exchanged, and collaborations begin. With the coalition now nearing 150 members across more than 85 organizations, the collective energy and potential for impact continue to grow.
Ultimately, the Action for Health Conference is more than an event—it’s a catalyst. It’s where Delaware’s “small but mighty” public health community comes together to align, innovate, and take meaningful steps forward.
With limited spots remaining and the conference fast approaching, now is the time to be part of a movement that is not just imagining healthier communities—but actively building them.
The Conference will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 8:00am-4:00pm at Bally’s Dover Casino Resort. To learn more, visit Annual Advancing Healthy Lifestyles Conference 2026 | Advancing Healthy Lifestyles Coalition
